This last year has been filled with amazing highs and lows. The birth of our baby girl, Elise, buying our first home, finding out that our baby had Craniosynostosis and having to go through the horror of having our 6 month old endure skull surgery, plus the recovery and months in a helmet. And then my mother being diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease and having two knee surgeries.
Though the hard times brought unrest, they also brought good things as well. My mother will soon be up and walking better than she has in years, and her medication for Parkinson's has brought up her general health. And I have my article coming out in our local Sugar Land Magazine in just another week, which talks about Ellie's condition and what we went through. In her story, I have inspired the magazine to make room for a new section of their magazine as well as other publications for other stories just like ours of families coming through a hard time.
It's amazing to look back and see the good in what we've gone through and remember that all things, no matter how big or how small, happen for the greater good.
